Day 6, and it's our first entry on this adventure! And to make it worse, it'll be a very short one. I'm still struggling to get our web site up and running, and with limited data connection, long driving days, some hiking and sight-seeing along the way and no wifi access until now...it's a slow process. So sorry to keep you waiting! Hopefully the small updates on insta and polarsteps are helping to fill the gaps, until we get this finally going. The truth is, the start of our trip is a pretty fast one. We are speeding (at an average 60 km/h, ie. Giraffe Speed) across Europe towards central Asia.
And in a moment of desperation as data coverage is truncated massively in Serbia, we stopped by McDonalds for a sure wifi fix. We keep trying to get on in restaurants and so far have been striking out. So, McFlurry at hand and wifi switched on, I'm doing a quick edit of the web page and hope once we hit Bulgaria, I'll be back online and can start populating it. So far, 1400km in, 4 border crossings behind us (with a more extensive search coming into Serbia - checked the closets, refrigerator, under the mattress - basically anywhere large enough to hide a person), we are doing well. No major mishaps so far and we are on track to reach the Ferry docking in Burgas on time for our crossing of the Black Sea. We'll do our best to keep you posted!
